As such, en world conducted a survey of 400 men and women in their 20s to 50s, who had changed jobs to foreign-capital companies within the last five years. Based on their actual comments, we will introduce the deciding factors for switching jobs and other points you should be aware of.

Nearly half of the job seekers who targeted foreign-capital companies had some sort of regret!

When asked about job search activities, out of the 400 men and women in their 20s to 50s who had changed jobs to foreign-capital companies in the past 5 years, 47.3% of the respondents answered that they "regret" the method used in their job search activities.

While using convenient tools such as job search websites, it appears that many people proceeded their search at their own discretion without any third party advice, which let to their regrets.

The top reason of regret was "pace leading up to the job change went too fast" (33.9%).

In addition, "did not meet my job search needs" (33.3%) follows with a close percentage. "As a result of using multiple methods, it was difficult to adjust and respond" (29.1%), "there were very few jobs available for my age rage" (25.9%), and "pace of changing jobs went too slow" (24.3%) followed.

The negative effects of changing jobs quicker or slower than expected were "difficulty in balancing current work and job search activities", "insufficient preparation", "inability to maintain motivation" and "unable to make a smooth transition due to inability to predict timing of job change". There were cases where respondents were unable to make sound decisions due to inability to grasp the pace, as well as cases where they were not able to performance well during interviews and selected companies that did not meet their position requirements.

Also, by using multiple services and methods, "the number of contacts increased and communication became complicated", "since applications were submitted simultaneously through various platforms, complications occurred around scheduling interviews”. Among those who used the job search platform, many mentioned insufficient information gathering, lack of interview preparations, difficulty finding a suitable position, and the fact that a recruitment agency should have been used as their biggest regrets. Some people who used the recruitment agency commented that they should have been more proactive in communicating their intentions and should have shown more initiative. Some people who used referrals said they should have negotiated their conditions such as their salaries, and taken the time to find a company with better conditions.

In addition, some of the failure stories mentioned lack of English skills as a failure, such as "I couldn't speak English at the time of the job change and should have studied more." There was also another comment saying, "I changed jobs through a headhunt, but I should have checked the salary structure in detail". This is followed by "Recruitment Agency" (25.3%) and "Referrals (introductions)" (11%).
