[Responsibilities]
Transaction Reporting team operates in the Operations Risk & Regulatory Control. Team is responsible for creating, verifying and submitting regulatory reports to major Japan regulators such as FSA, BOJ, JSDA, etc., assessing the impact to those regulatory reports due to market changes or in-house system changes, and implementing necessary changes to the reporting system and procedure so that the Firm will comply with regulations at all time. Within Transaction Reporting, the team also provides oversight to Legal Ledgers across all products. Partnering with Legal and Compliance to learn local regulatory requirements and Technology to understand the system architectures, the team works with other Operations teams to conduct business analysis on any changes or new requirements to regulations that would require change management in the existing operations from front to back.

This position mainly focuses on executing the day-to-day processes such as report creation and submission, identifying, escalating risks/issues and resolving issues with relevant parties, analysing changes and requirement to develop the reporting system and exploring the process improvement to achieve accurate reporting and efficient process.

  • Create regulatory reports accurately and timely as a maker and expected to take on a checker role in 6 months.
  • Work with Legal & Compliance division to understand the rules and interpretations, and document them clearly.
  • Maintain thorough procedures manuals and all other risk control documents.
  • Identify and escalate risks and issues. Propose solutions and solve them with relevant parties.
  • Partner with ISG Product Operations to understand booking flow as well as assess the regulatory report impact due to new business, process/system change or regulation change.
  • Analyse the change and requirement, and document business requirements, and work with Technology to develop the reporting system to maximize efficiency and optimization.
  • Identify, escalate and mitigate risks associated with the Regulatory Reporting and areas for process improvement. Propose the solution.
  • Set the agenda and drive the discussion.

[Requirements]
Skill Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Japanese (ability to communicate properly with Regulators in Japan)
  • Self-motivated with positive working attitude

  • Good interpersonal skills and good communication skills, able to interact and communicate openly and effectively across cultural and hierarchical lines within the Firm

  • Advanced Excel skill (ability to write formulas like vlookup/sumif and utilize pivot table)
  • Ability to read and understand Japan regulations (FIEL, etc.)

Skills Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Japan regulations (FIEL, etc.), Japan regulatory reporting and legal ledger.
  • Financial Product knowledge and Operations experience
  • Technology related project experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access and PowerPoint

6-8 million JPY + Bonus
