Senior Product and Pricing Specialist
Leading Finance Institution
We are looking for a seasoned pricing analyst who can support all lines of business locally, in close cooperation with the Underwriting Regional Hubs specialized in each business line. Actuarial qualifications would be ideal for the role, particularly to support the insurance company's regulatory requirements.
Product pricing / actuarial analysis:
Create tariffs and develop pricing models / Calculate appropriate pricing for new products in close cooperation with the global / regional UW hubs.
Advise Sales and Marketing departments on product development, from a pricing point of view.
Lead price quotation processes in full compliance with our underwriting guidelines and local regulations. This requires close work with the local sales and operations teams to understand the product/service and client requirements.
Obtain necessary approvals from the UW hubs.
Support the response to tenders or client requests to help the Business Development Team's successful acquisition of profitable B2B clients.
This requires an understanding of the offered products and the risks associated (covered events, benefit mix, intervention rates, external costs, adverse material incidents, etc.).
Advise Sales on technical pricing elements taking into account the commercial priorities.
Support client meetings as needed.
Contract wording and T&Cs:
Ensure alignment of local T&Cs with global standards Ensure that technical pricing considerations are reflected on the contract working / policy T&Cs
Produce policy language and product-specific documents, including the filing documentation needed for our insurance products.
Claims analysis and Portfolio Monitoring:
Monitor and analyze claims patterns for each product
Analyze profitability per client and per product, including proposing appropriate allocation costs in liaison with the Finance and Operations department
Identify any claims or client profitability trend which should trigger price review, contractual review or product redesign and advise on options to remediate
Conduct the needed regulatory actuarial analysis.
Qualifications and Experience
Education in mathematics / economics / data analysis / actuary or equivalent experience
Minimum 10 years' experience in the insurance business / solid insurance product know-how
Experience in pricing of services, claims analysis and portfolio monitoring
Good knowledge of Japanese corporate and financial laws and regulations
Bilingual Japanese and English
Knowledge of pricing techniques and proficiency in using Pricing tools

English Language level: Business level
Japanese Language level: Fluent - Native Level (Equivalent to JLPT N1)
Work permission in Japan required
10~12 million JPY + bonus
