Senior Manager Corporate Communications

The Corporate Communication Team enhances the company's reputation and positively impacts the employee experience at the company by developing meaningful communications to internal and external audiences that inform, engage and inspire.

【Key Responsibilities】

  • Lead communications strategy for Japan
  • Partner with GM Japan and his senior leadership teams across assigned functions to understand the functions' strategic direction and represent their view on all strategic matters at the APAC corporate comms level
  • Act constantly as a business partner and communication consultant to GM and Leadership Team in delivering impactful content for internal and external audiences
  • Drive understanding and buy-in of assigned functions' key strategic initiatives and priorities, in particular HR and Brand teams by developing compelling top-down leadership communication and bottom-up employee storytelling
  • Create shared understanding of the company strategy, particularly in relation to strategic topics across the assigned functions, in order to drive motivation and promote collaboration towards collective company goals
  • Create new and improved communication methods for entire concepts, stories and messaging for internal and external key events/activations/campaigns
  • Drive continuous improvement of entire contents/tools/concepts from idea to action and ensure that they are followed
  • Drive execution and implementation of business strategies, in order to set communication trends, including optimal communication channel mix to maximize outreach and impact
  • Ensure alignment with entire Corporate Communication team, collaborate with Digital & Content Creation team on seamless Corporate Communication plan execution and brief markets on messaging and concepts for globally relevant topics and campaigns
  • Significantly contribute to the achievement of the APAC corporate communication strategy
  • 70% internal communication, 20% team management and 10% external communications

【Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:】

  • Comprehensive understanding of communication and business topics
  • Ability to maneuver in consistently changing environment & to operate cross-functionally
  • Ability to think and act strategically and develop operational plans
  • Strong executive presence
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and event planning skills
  • Business fluency in English and Japanese (written and spoken)

【Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:】

  • University degree or equivalent in business, communications, journalism or marketing
  • Japanese native level, English business level, both written and verbal (quality, consistency and accuracy)
  • 8 - 10 years of working experience in a Corporate/ Internal Communication department of a blue-chip company. Additional experience in media agency is helpful.
  • 2 years experience leading a team
  • Preferably at least 2 years of working experience in partnering closely with leaders and developing leadership communication

[Language Requirement]
English Language level: Business level
Japanese Language level: Fluent - Native Level (Equivalent to JLPT N1)
Work permission in Japan required
