  • This is an exceptional opportunity to provide leadership and partnership to a company on the frontiers of its next big growth leap. Experience working in-house in a commercially-focused legal role in a high growth SaaS business is a must. This role will report to the General Counsel.
  • This attorney will provide legal support to our Japan sales team, work with the senior leadership team, deal desk and other functions to support our commercial transactions. S/he will collaborate with several verticals including sales operations, finance, sales executives, information security, and procurement as well as the global legal team members to build scalable processes.
  • Duties include negotiating commercial agreements including NDAs, enterprise SaaS customer agreements, SOWs, DPAs, technology partnerships, reseller agreements and procurement agreements. As part of the responsibilities, the successful attorney will create and refine standard form agreements, playbooks and legal processes that mitigate risks while enabling deal velocity and scale. S/he will also manage regulatory risk relating to data privacy and data security.


  • 大学卒(法学部・ロースクール卒が望ましい)
  • 弁護士資格はあれば尚可(必須ではない)
  • 10年程度以上の法務業務経験、うち3年以上、IT/ソフトウェア/SaaS業界でのご経験
  • ビジネスレベルの英語力(主に社内での利用)
  • データプライバシー/データセキュリティに関するご経験、CIPP資格などあれば尚可
  • At least 10 years of legal experience, including 3-5 years of commercial software/SaaS legal experience is a must
  • Legal experience drafting and negotiating: enterprise SaaS customer agreements, SOW's, DPA's, technology partnerships, reseller agreements and procurement agreements
  • Business acumen with the ability to effectively drive business forward with a thoughtful and practical approach
  • Demonstrated capability to work efficiently, learn quickly, prioritize and meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment, work well under pressure and adjust to frequent change
  • Excellent communication, drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with executive, colleagues, customers, partners and external advisors
  • A passion for technology and a practical approach to problem-solving with the ability to effectively counsel internal clients with clear, concise and constructive advice to meet business needs
  • The desire and willingness to roll-up-your-sleeves and work with all levels of the organization; great attention to detail; and a passion for scaling for growth
  • Unquestioned ethics and integrity
  • Law degree (a degree equivalent to a Juris Doctorate in the US) from an accredited law school and active bar membership
  • Proficiency in English and Japanese; experience with Japanese law a distinct advantage

Experience in the following is a big plus:

  • Data privacy and data security regulation and practice, particularly as applied to a SaaS business in the marketing tech/ad tech space
  • CIPP certification
  • Experience negotiating with G2K customers
  • Supported a business through a period of significant year over year growth
  • Experience establishing commercial infrastructure, processes, compliance and efficiency programs
  • Employment law experience
