Retail Operation Manager



The operations manager will report to Senior Director of Retail Merchandising and Operations and is responsible for the effective management, implementation and achievement of various operational strategies and business objectives. This position is responsible for building effective partnerships with all corporate and field business partners by communicating, leading and supporting priorities and objectives in order to achieve established results. Heavy emphasis on developing strategies that drive improved efficiency, resulting in cost-savings and improved customer experiences.

Business Development, Project Delivery and Strategy Execution
▪ Lead high profile operational projects as assigned.
▪ Manage and direct special retail projects and initiatives to ensure execution and deadlines.
▪ Identify business process opportunities and reengineer processes to improve efficiency.
▪ Build business cases to support strategic initiatives.
▪ Facilitate project meetings and strategic planning sessions.
▪ Benchmark operations performance against key competitors.
▪ Assists in the planning of sales meetings for Regional and District Management.
▪ Prepare and submit monthly business analysis by region, including quarterly business review.
▪ Develop and assist with the creation of retail projects and initiatives to meet divisional excellence.
▪ Act as an expert on Operational cost management and cost controls.

Effective Leadership and Communication
▪ Responsible for regular updates to senior level executives both internally and externally.
▪ Develop executive level presentations that present project goals, initiatives, results and planning.
▪ Provide constant communication to corporate and field partners in order to achieve support and achieve desired business objectives.
▪ Updates policies and procedures and ensures communication when new policies are established, revised or when appropriate.
▪ Initiates external departmental communication to ensure field has needed resources to be successful (product, promotional materials, fixtures, etc.). Act as liaison between field and home office.

Ability to produce positive business results
▪ Drive top line sales and increase profitability.
▪ Assist in developing and adjusting annual sales plans.
▪ Analyze historical date and current trends to identify risks and opportunity to company operations and financial results.
▪ Reviews shopping services and evaluate standards of performance based on findings. Takes appropriate actions to improve results.

People Development
▪ Accountable for coordinating and training Field Leaders
▪ Creates and environment of excitement, trust and teamwork which fosters an environment of staff stability and reduced staff turnover.
▪ Assists in facilitating Operations Department succession planning.

・ Communicate with Field Leaders through conference calls, individual follow-up calls and written communication.
・ Partner with various Managers, Directors and Upper Level Management to ensure proper planning and forecasting.
・ Create and maintain an environment conducive of trust and respect by coaching and mentoring team.
・ Must be able to analyze reports and offer corrective solutions based on findings.
