[Responsibilities]
Reporting to Director, Head of Index and Analytics Sales for Japan, the major focus of this role is to seek new business opportunities and contributes to the sale of complex customized offerings in the fixed income analytics and indices space, providing the business with an understanding of customer requirements and holds responsibility for the implementation and development of targeted sales campaigns

  • Focuses on penetration within existing accounts for analytics products and Fixed Income indices in Japan
  • Developing strategies to maximise penetration of products and revenue opportunities across different client base (asset owners, asset managers, banks, service providers, consultants, exchange partners) through profiling market and prioritizing projects
  • Investigating the use and perception of competitor products and seeks opportunities to replace them
  • Proactively approaching customers with creative technology/API solutions to grow the business
  • Establishing potential redistributors/vendors for index data and analytics products
  • Executes longer and more complex sales cycles which typically leads to a long term customer relationship
  • Sells customized and integrated offerings with multiple applications, understands the market and technical architecture of (potential) customers in risk management process
  • Brings awareness of client requirements back to the business to shape go-to-market plans and existing / new product development
  • Develops go-to-market plans for net new (target) customers and lead the execution of existing customer account plans
  • Drives new product sales through ownership of targeted sales campaigns and spends significant time on prospecting activity;

[Requirements]
It is expected with limited supervision the candidate will be able to deliver each of the key objectives of the role identified above. It is therefore expected that he or she will have:

  • Significant experience of sales / new business development with proven track record (5 years+) in financial technology area with demonstrated experience of delivering technology solutions
  • Excellent knowledge of financial markets, industry landscape and in-depth understanding of institutional client segments in Asia Pacific
  • Understanding risk management process in financial institutions and regulatory landscape change to capture revenue opportunities for analytics products
  • Communicate effectively internally and externally on product offering in analytics (including through product demonstrations, client visits, presentations and seminars)
  • Strong team player and can work well with teams including research & development, generalist sales, client service, technical support, legal + billing
  • Strong work ethic, personal initiative, excellent communication, relationship-building + presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative aptitude
  • Ability to drive client satisfaction + revenues, as well as maintain highest levels of professionalism in all aspects of clients relationship
  • High proficiency with technology
  • Strong academic background ideally in finance, financial modelling, financial engineering, math, economics, computer science or technology
  • Educated to University degree level and above
  • Native level of Japanese language and business level of English are required
