[Responsibilities]

  • Organize and manage the Group's Operations throughout the value-chain from client onboarding to post trade services, required recon and control functions as well as all regulatory, risk and control functions.

  • Ensure prudent and lean processes for our clients - Traders, Investors and Wholesale - always being compliant in all regulatory and legal aspects as well as supporting scalability, simplicity, and efficiency.

  • Ensure proper business and risk management culture, procedures and ensure prudent legal agreements are in place where needed, adhered to daily operations, and escalated when required as per policies and procedures.

  • It is your responsibility to plan for, navigate, develop, and motivate your direct reports.

  • It is your responsibility to monitor incoming volumes and coordinate accordingly with Global Operation teams so that it does not have any adverse impact on SLAs.

  • Ensure risk reports are approved and mitigation steps are adhered to.

  • It is your responsibility to have the overview of ongoing projects and initiatives impacting the function and ensure prioritization within the function in line with the overall our Group strategy.

  • It is your responsibility to continuously utilise the MIS reporting and other ad hoc management reporting in line with senior management expectations to assess and review performance, adherence to SLAs and Coordinate with Global Operation teams for flawless delivery of services to Clients.

  • It is your responsibility to build a successful outsourcing model using other parts of our group while implementing a proper local control process.

Mandate

  • You have the mandate to grow/ curtail teams, basis the approved FTE budget.

  • You are responsible to Coordinate with the Global Operations team to provide all Back Office Services to our Clients.

  • You have the mandate to allocate and distribute tasks within the function.

  • To communicate and familiarize the function with all relevant targets, KPIs and strategy plans.

  • To interact and if necessary, intervene with any part of our company to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, proper business procedures and client focus - working closely with other group areas securing this.

  • To intervene in case the policies and procedures relevant to Group Operations' areas of responsibility are not being fully adhered to or followed in any part of our company.

  • Follow up and drive key strategic priorities and cross departmental projects agreed by COO.

  • Develop a strong talented group of staff and relevant succession candidates of key positions group wide.

[Requirements]

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the financial industry especially managing operations (post-trade, middle office, settlement)

  • Management of day-to-day operations activities - payments processing, tax reporting, corporate actions

  • Exposure to equities, options (FX, equities)/derivatives trading business

  • Prior experience of managing margin trading post-trade/MO/settlements is preferable

  • Prior experience of handling regulatory reporting - JSFA, KLFB, FFAJ, CFAJ

  • Prior experience of KYC/client onboarding is preferable

  • Be able to act as a direct contact point for regulatory audits

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills

  • Prior experience of managing team of 10 and above

  • Prior experience, proven track record of outsourcing operations activities

  • Bi-lingual (Japanese, English)

Qualification

  • A Bachelor's degree is highly desired (Law, Commerce, Engineering)

  • JSDA Sales Representative Level 1, Level 2 certified

  • JSDA internal controls certification

  • TOEIC score about 800 will be a big plus

[Language Requirement]

  • English Language level: Business level

  • Japanese Language level: Fluent - Native Level (Equivalent to JLPT N1)

  • Work permission in Japan required
