[Responsibilities]
We have an outstanding opportunity for a Technology Leader who will thrive in a landscape and environment which is continuously evolving, requiring a strong leader who is collaborative, self-motivated, takes accountability and drives results. This Associate Director is a key leadership role within the IT organization and an important player working closely with business colleagues to shape digital transformation and accelerate the use of technology capabilities in support of the company's vision and mission to save and improve lives.

The role is a people management as well as individual contributor role in our agile organization. The individual will be part of the Japan IT Leadership team and work closely with local and global IT members as well as with commercial business colleagues to deliver business outcomes. As part of cross-functional squad (project team) collaborate with Product Owner (project lead) and other members in Japan and overseas to provide the technical capabilities (IT solutions) in support of company priorities.

Responsibilities include

  • People management focusing on members competencies building to ensure consistency of knowledge & standards and professional growth of the members while fostering a culture of excellence & continuous learning. Support chapter members career development
  • Work with Agile unit lead and product owners to assess resource requirements in the squads and allocate / relocate members to meet the needs of the squads & people development
  • Provide knowledge and expertise both within squads and as an expert consultant in other squads when needed. As squad member in the cross-functional organization: deliver sales technology solutions, omni-channel CRM, and other customer facing solutions to Japan business users, by collaborating with overseas product teams
  • Implement systems/features agreed with business users in Japan and aligned with company priorities by working with product teams, technical product lead and squad members
  • Provide facilitation for design and implementation of strategic, aligned and compliant digital solutions to support business strategy
  • Communicate Japan business needs effectively and partner with global product teams to enable business objectives with the latest technologies covering both short term needs and mid to long term strategy
  • Communicate IT strategy and portfolio to key business stakeholder and facilitate buy-in across key stakeholders as applicable
  • Build strong network within divisional IT and IT Hubs and encourage sharing expertise and lessons learned and providing input to the enterprise digital strategy. Support chapter members to engage and share learnings

[Requirements]
Required Experience

  • Knowledge of and practical experience in the competence area the chapter is encompassing (Commercial Technology, ideally CRM)
  • Experience with leading teams
  • Demonstrated superior management skills as well as communication skills that emphasize collaboration in a matrixed organization and ability to align the organization towards best outcomes keeping in mind business needs as well as Technology requirements and best practices

Strong IT skills backed by experience

  • 5+ years' experience in IT solution delivery project as a business analyst, technical analysist and/or project lead
  • 3+ years' of experience in managing a team in global matrix environment/structure including vendor resources
  • 5+ years of working experience in multi-national companies with industry regulation such as financial/medical device, etc
