Global Pharmaceutical Company
The W&D Cluster Manager plans and leads local category initiatives for the sub-category of Distribution and Warehousing in Japan. The cluster manager develops the sub-category strategy as part of the wider Category Strategy leads proactive sourcing projects, specification definition and demand management, as well as managing sub-category specific supplier performance and innovation activities.
・Productivity Savings Generation & Measurement
1 Accountable for the delivery of sub-category savings targets following engagement in the target setting process.
2 Responsible for the delivery of Balanced Scorecard Measures for the relevant sub-category
・Supply Chain Assessment and Benchmarking
Responsible for the collection of supplier, market, category and internal business data and information for the sub-category. Information to be shared within the Category Team and Share Point.
・SC Project Management & Implementation
1 Responsible for the development and execution of projects based on the sub-category strategy and business planning activities to feed into the Annual Category Plan
2 Accountable for ensuring the sub-category projects agreed to within the Global Category Strategy are staffed and executed on a timely basis in line with the targeted goals
3 Responsible for leading proactive sourcing for the sub-category
・Supplier Relationship & Performance Management / Supply Chain Assessment and Benchmarking
1 Responsible for collecting supplier information and feedback from Divisions, countries, sites, category teams and Business Partners
2 Responsible for providing input into the overall category segmentation and identification of key supplier relationships
3 Accountable for the implementation of consistent KPIs (minimum monthly) for the sub-category, based on the Novartis Supplier Performance and Innovation Framework
4 Accountable for the management of strategic subcategory supplier relationships as agreed in the supplier segmentation
5 Responsible for ensuring the Novartis SP&I Framework is executed at the sub-category level
6 Responsible for proactively managing innovation with strategic suppliers within the sub-category and inform the divisions about the given progress
7 Responsible for ensuring internal issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner
8 Accountable for ensuring that any supplier performance risks and issues are resolved on a timely basis to end user satisfaction
・Supplier Relationship & Contract Management
1 Responsible for the creation, application and completion and review of major contracts for the sub-category
2 Accountable for ensuring negotiated contracts (Agreed prices, operational and quality services) are clearly communicated to impacted Novartis divisions to ensure they are consistently applied
Bachelor's degree required at a minimum, Master's degree preferred; in fields such
as business administration, finance, law or a scientific or technical field. Preferred in Supply Chain/Procurement experience Preference for CIPS or similar professional qualification.
Minimum 5 years of Procurement and/or Supply Chain experience preferred in
Pharmaceutical Background. Extensive experience in category and demand management, as well as negotiating.
Strong command of written and speaking in Japanese and English. Other additional language desirable.
