[Responsibilities]
Reporting to the Senior Manager Operations, the incumbent will be responsible for designing and driving initiatives with objectives to improve productivity, quality and operations within our Distribution Centers in Japan by adopting robotic / automated processes and technologies.

<Key Responsibilities:>
Solution Design

  • Act as a subject matter experts and key liaison between customer, vendor and operations:
  • Create the process definitions and process maps used for automation
  • Lead the design and development of the configuration of robotic automated process for execution
  • Manage to ensure timely delivery of robotic automation solutions within the respective Distribution Centers
  • Manager to ensure compliance of robotic automated process to global and customer's standards
  • Act as technical support for any change request from customer / operations
  • Continually research and identify new and innovative ways to drive productivity by automation and new material handling techniques and technologies
  • Assess opportunities with strong ROI potentials; conduct controlled tests in a live environment with an eye to rapidly deploy proven automation and innovations

<Productivity Improvement>

  • Lead the continual improvement of highly-effective robotic process improvement tools and techniques
  • Working in collaboration with operations:
  • Design and drive operational Best Practices and Standard Operating Procedures by Industry/Vertical, mainly Footwear & Apparel for the time being
  • Identify productivity improvement opportunities through structured benchmarking
  • Conduct on-the-floor assessments to identify, define, and prioritize productivity improvement opportunities utilizing a blend of methodologies including Lean principles
  • Support operations to implement changes which may include solution prototyping
  • Measure actual improvements over previous baseline; translate the improvements into labor cost savings

<Learning & Development>

  • Lead the design and facilitation of productivity improvement training programs locally, inclusive of classroom, on-line/self-study, and on-the-job training programs

[Requirements]

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering / Systems Engineering/ Operations Management / Supply Chain Management
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in Warehouse Automated System involving Robotics Operations, Automated Conveyor System, Linear Sorter, Automated Retrieval System etc. in a Distribution Center environment
  • With solid experience in e-commerce (B2C) operations environment
  • Strong cultural sensitivity with ability to interact effectively with people across various cultures and geographies
  • Vertical exposures to Fashion & lifestyle, retails or FMCG will be an advantage
  • Strong ability to understand, communicate with, and effectively interact with people across cultures and countries
  • Good analytical, conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered for Asst Manager or Supervisor Operations Excellence
