  • Build business partner relationships and be the single point of contact for senior stakeholders in the region
  • Lead the development of regional Annual Plan (a project pipeline and shared goals) with the countries and EA Leads aligned with the Category Strategies
  • Drive projects in the region to achieve target goals to ensure Procurement's financial benefits are delivered
  • Deliver Sourcing, Demand Management and Process Improvement and Supplier Performance and Innovation projects
  • Specific activities will include creating project plans, identifying required resources, and identifying / creating all primary deliverables
  • Proactively identify, report and mitigate risks to goal delivery in the region
  • Liaise with the Head of Procurement and the Head of Finance Process Improvement to ensure the application of relevant Procurement processes and standards
  • Develop an approach for spot buys / ad-hoc business requests in the region and document in the appropriate Buying Guides and Handbooks for the EAs/countries and Buying Unit, respectively
  • Advise Category Leads and Category Managers in delivering global projects impacting the region, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly communicated and understood and key stakeholders are engaged
  • Ensure accurate reporting of Procurement Balanced Scorecard metrics
  • Work with the required EAs and Category teams to deliver spend accuracy for the region


  • Undergraduate degree in Business or related fields
  • 6 years of experience in procurement
  • 4+ years of experience in indirect procurement in the pharmaceutical / biotech industries
  • Proven experience in three or more of the following categories: Marketing, Market Research, Travel & Entertainment, Meetings and Events, Human Resources, Contingent Labor, Consulting, Patient Advocacy, Patient Services, Legal and Financial Services
  • In-depth analytical experience with knowledge of category management and strategic sourcing methodologies
  • Strong facilitation skills supported by excellent interpersonal competencies (communication, leadership, influencing)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience sourcing in Asia and in the global marketplace
  • Fluent in Japanese and English
