Global investment firm

Main responsibilities
o Provide legal support in respect of our Japanese ITM fund range. This will involve preparation and review of trust deeds and fund disclosure documentation including securities registration statements, annual and semi-annual reports, investment reports, prospectuses and summary prospectuses.
o Provide legal support in respect of our non-Japanese funds registered in Japan including liaising with external counsel and internally to prepare the necessary fund disclosure documentation in Japan.

Other responsibilities
o Provide legal support in relation to separate account activities.
o Prepare contracts documenting internal relationships between our entities, including services, secondment, delegation and transfer pricing agreements.
o Maintain the team contract log and update record keeping systems.
o Review and negotiate general contracts and assists with the review of non-disclosure agreements, as needed.
o Assist with corporate and company secretarial obligations such as preparation of board meetings.

At least 3 years of (i) legal experience in the financial industry sector or (ii) fund disclosure documentation experience in asset management. Ideally, the candidate will also hold a legal qualification (e.g. a law degree). Candidates without experience in the financial industry sector but with a strong legal background will also be considered.
Language skills: English is a must. The position requires the ability to communicate in English (both written and oral) with the internal stakeholders.
Good organisational skills and attention to details.
Dynamic and team-player.
Ability to interact with a diverse group of internal contacts including those outside Japan and with external contacts.
