[Responsibilities]
Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for HR operational business partnering to directly support the shared service entity Japan functional departments and cross BU/ plant HR in Japan
  • Responsible for supporting the implementation of our key global HR transformation project in Japan, aimed at creating value added HR processes and service delivery efficiency in the medium term
  • Responsible for actively supporting the integration of acquired businesses and harmonization of key HR processes and policy

Tasks

  • Operational HR
    • Business partner with functional depts of the shared Service Entity, and the BU/ plant operations, to support short-term periodical and mid-term structured workforce planning, job rotation, and succession planning
    • Oversee HR reporting and control, and accurate and timely PDCA cycle of HR process KPIs
    • Manage the annual performance management / Objectives process, according to HAY grading at management level
    • Drive employee engagement, internal communication (including Intranet), employee collaboration mediums, and a positive working environment
    • Partner with BU/ plant HR to ensure positive labor relations, and a coordinated approach to union negotiations
    • Entrench a performance driven culture across the organization at all levels, through a common performance management system (staff level), linked to a fair and motivating grading, compensation and benefits policy
    • Ensure effective deployment of our global HR strategies, programs and processes across the business operation, in respecting cultural characteristics
    • Develop collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders, including Corporate HR, the functions/ business units, HR management team and other key HR process owners in the service entities and BUs/plants to achieve common goals
  • HR Project management
    • Together with the Director Human Resources Asia 1, oversee the implementation of a key Global HR transformation project and target operating model, across the business operations and in coordination with regional HR shared service entities
    • Manage the integration of our key HR processes in acquired businesses, and the standardization, simplification and systemization of personnel administration processes and procedures (staffing, employee motivation, appraisal system, band and salary, etc.)
    • Support the harmonization of key HR policies across the organization, and manage their implementation and maintenance
    • Oversee the rollout of a Global SAP HR system across the business operations, and other technology solutions to support HR processes

[Requirements]

  • Experienced HR professional, with 15 years of generalist HR experience in business operations in Japan and/or transformational HR consulting experience
  • At least 5 years of HR leadership experience in a change environment, matrix/ manufacturing organization experience an advantage
  • Deep knowledge of Japanese business culture
  • International experience and intercultural skills an advantage
  • Project management experience, with SAP HR experience an advantage
  • Demonstrated qualities, including challenging mindset, resilience, team player skills
  • University degree
  • Fluent Japanese and English language skills
