The Compliance Specialist interprets and administers policies, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant Financial Control Manual (FCM) requirements according the FCM schedule, including internal and external regulations (e.g. SOX requirements) for own FSC organization and, in accordance with the respective SLAs, for Divisional Finance, other Functions and outsourcing partners (O&O) for a defined area of responsibility. Support global finance process improvement initiatives, sharing leading practices.

Major Accountabilities
Service Delivery:

  • Supports transitions and knowledge transfer, monitoring critical deliverables
  • Proactively challenge the Status Quo, making fact based recommendations
  • Assists to ensure compliance with the FCM
  • Liaison/coordination with O&O and Divisional Finance on operational matters
  • Regular performance metrics reporting according to Group/Divisional standards
  • Liaison with stakeholders, including CFOs, IA, ext. Audit and Corporate Financial Controls (CFC)
  • Harmonize finance control processes across internal customers and O&O
  • Ensure compliance with local requirements
  • Raise awareness of key risks and risk response in the organization
  • Coach and strengthen internal control skills within the organization
  • Monitor compliance in business ethics and detect and report (possible) violations (e.g. to BPO)
  • Prepare and support FSC & Divisional Finance for audits
  • Support / assist auditors during their mission
  • Define and track action items, including accurate and timely resolution of agreed actions
  • Provide/initiate training on compliance requirements to controls owners in FSC, Divisions and O&O
  • Ensure to be up-to-date on periodical changes on compliance requirements

Japan specifics:

  • Supports processes are migrated to the blueprint as per agreed timelines
  • Proactively support the ongoing transitions and the Everest working model for FC&C
  • Conduct deep dive reviews on high risk processes, activities and areas as agreed with internal customers
  • Support non-finance departments (I&C, Sales etc.) with knowledge of systems and processes from FCM perspective
  • Strengthen overall control environment and foster culture of compliance
  • Review key policies and initiate improvements

GxP accountability

  • Ensure adequate reporting of adverse events / technical complaint / compliance issue in accordance with company procedures
  • 100% timely delivery of all training requirements including compliance


  • 3-5 years of FRA/compliance
  • Qualified in accounting/IFRS, SOX/ICFR, FCM
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national, matrix organization
  • Previous experience in auditing is preferred
  • Solid SAP knowledge
  • Project Mgmt experience
  • University Degree in Economics or Business Administration (or equivalent), preferably specialising in Finance
  • Local language plus English
