Overall tasks

  • Grow sales at existing markets
  • Lead, manage, plan and coordinate commercial activities
  • Improve and maintain good relations with authorities and other stakeholders

Primary duties and responsibilities

  • Reach or exceed sales targets (revenue and EBIT budgets) for ground handling and cargo
  • Achieve profitable business growth in line with our business plan and agreed Commercial Plans
  • Define and implement sales strategy, standards and guidelines
  • Gain new profitable business (lead negotiations of new contracts in a timely manner and in line with tender deadlines)
  • Maintain existing business (lead for successful renegotiations of contracts)
  • Profitable growth: Promote and sell additional or new services to existing customers
  • Cross selling of ground handling, cargo, and maintenance services
  • Analyse current market trends and strategic growth opportunities to support business development and our overall geographic coverage
  • Participate in Weekly, Monthly and yearly commercial conference calls and meetings with the VP commercial.
  • Proactively delegate assignments to the commercial representatives in Japan

Secondary duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure contracts are compliant with our international standards or legally approved if non-standard (e.g. liabilities) and double-signed
  • Lead and participate in cost calculations and business cases
  • KAM: Manage key accounts in close coordination with COO, VP Commercial, St. Mgrs, Finance, our international KAM's as well as local customer airlines station - , country- and regional managers
  • CRM: Professionally manage and enhance good customer relations (by means of Salesforce tool)
  • TTM Time and territorial management: efficiently and effectively plan local and regional activities
  • Provide market intelligence (benchmarking)
  • Customer-orientation: Ensure fast reaction time according market needs
  • Market communication: assure sufficient and continuous market presence and visibility
  • Represent our management at industry events or conferences
  • Networking and lobbying on decision maker level with customers and authorities
  • Internal communication: Ensure proficient and timely internal information regarding contracted services
  • DSO monitoring and customer follow-up according need

  • Higher education in sales and marketing
  • Good economical (P&L) and entrepreneurial (general business administration) understanding
  • General management and / or project management leadership experience
  • Proven experience and know-how in the aviation business (preferably ground handling)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft applications (word, excel, ppt)
  • English and Japanese verbal and written
  • Proven negotiation and diplomacy skills in contact with customers and business partners
  • Networking and lobbying skills on decision-maker level
  • Self-confidence and ability to build up trust
  • Ability to think and act in a dynamic and innovative way
  • Ability to identify business opportunities and trends
  • Above average ability to work under pressure
