Purpose of your role

  • Application Support Analyst will be responsible for managing all application support, projects and initiatives and our "high touch" service desk in conjunction with the support desk to ensure that the platforms and environment meet the needs of the global Investment Management business team. Application Support Analyst will have 2-3 year experience in support with experience in delivering and supporting all needs of a regional office, including provision of application 'high touch' end user support service to all levels including executives. Application Support Analyst will have to form a close relationship with the users and global counterparts.
  • This entails the support understanding the trading team methods and fixed income fund management business needs in the region, gathering user requirements, resolving functional issues, providing application support and ensuring the application platform that meets the regional needs. This role also has regular contact with others involve in order generation, compliance and fund accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-going system production and user support
  • Initial contact point for all systems issues that arise from global Investment Management business.
  • Problem diagnosis, resolution analysis, and liaise regionally and globally with business and system groups to follow through the support items
  • Understand the data environment and create automated/ad-hoc report
  • Provide early morning support and public holiday coverage
  • Quality assurance and organising user acceptance testing
  • Ensure the quality of the solution meets the needs of the region
  • Develop and execute quality test plans for the system rollout and managing UAT
  • Provide pre-implementation and post-implementation support to the systems and business teams
  • Organize prototype demos and training to users
  • Prepare training materials and document user feedback
  • Coordinate hardware and software installation
  • Identifying and documenting Business Requirements
  • Understand existing systems functions and liaison with Business teams
  • Document high level business requirements and create detailed business specifications
  • Escalate change requests/new requirements/issues to Project Manager in timely fashion
  • Fundamental trading technology in Asia, including
  • Able to create a clear partnership with the business at all levels
  • Supporting existing production systems
  • Understand the data environment and create automated/ad-hoc report


  • 2-3 years of work experience as a Support/Business Analyst.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-starter with ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Working knowledge of key third-party providers of trading/market data applications
  • Experience in business process improvement and business analysis
  • Understanding of the technology development lifecycle.
  • SQL & Access proficiency (ability to create, maintain, alter & query databases)
  • Experience of Microsoft Office and Excels VBA.
  • Experience of working with multi-cultural teams in a geographically diverse environment
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Fluent in English and business level Japanese
