[Responsibilities]
Summary:

  • Strategically partner with business units to develop business cases for IT investment and deliver outcomes for digital capabilities. Proactively understand business priorities and objectives to define and execute strategic roadmaps, drive process change, and ensure the value of digital capability investments is captured.
  • Provide leadership for ongoing operations and various project initiatives including large-scale application deployments, systems integration, process reengineering and infrastructure upgrades. Directly manage team of IT Business Partners and provide matrix management for all IT functions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Owns IT relationship with the BU and accountable for business outcomes
  • Aligns with Global IT operating models and investment processes to deliver digital capabilities
  • Partners with BU to enable process change and process integration
  • Maintains expertise on relevant business areas and processes
  • Accountable for committed outcomes of all digital capabilities leveraged by the business
  • Connect stakeholders with broader IT services
  • Manage matrix team and direct reports to ensure successful delivery of all IT functions
  • Ensure business issues/opportunities requiring IT support are identified and appropriate strategies are executed
  • Develop business cases and align global strategy and capabilities to provide the most appropriate IT solutions

[Requirements]
Language & Communication:

  • Ability to communicate, negotiate, and influence Japan and global stakeholders in English and Japanese (Required)
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior management and both technical and non-technical audiences (Required)

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the Japan pharmaceutical market (Required)
  • Knowledge of commercial practices such as digital marketing and CRM and supporting IT tools (Required)
  • Knowledge of IT project and program management (Required)
  • Knowledge of common application development methodologies and solution architectures (Desired)
  • Knowledge of broad IT areas such as infrastructure and security (Desired)

Skill:

  • Strategic partnering skills for anticipating needs, identifying opportunities, and driving delivery (Required)
  • People management skills to grow and develop a high functioning team
  • Leadership skills for delivering outcomes with global cross-functional teams (Required)
  • Relationship building skills across functions and geographies (Required)

Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in an IT organization (Required)
  • 5+ years leading IT programs, projects, and initiatives (Required)
  • 5+ years leading and managing teams and individuals (Required)
  • 5+ years of experience with global IT projects (Required)
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry (Required)
  • Consulting experience (Desired)

Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree (Required)
  • Master's degree (Desired)
  • PMP certified (Desired)
