Position Summary & Key Objectives
Drive our Japan sales and margins through merchandising, performance marketing and content initiatives in line with our strategy:
・ Responsible for the definition and execution of the eCommerce strategy for Japan
・ Responsible for the full P&L for Japan eCommerce
Direct responsible for: Business Development, Content Management, Operations, and eCom Performance Marketing
Contributes to: Product Merchandising, Planning & Allocation, Regional Retail Marketing and Site Development
Business Development: Define strategies and tactical measures to drive the P&L improvement
・ Provide ongoing reporting and analysis on Net Sales and Gross Margin Development identifying root causes and opportunities
・ Based on web analytics and competitive studies derive business potentials
・ identify and leverage marketplaces as growth opportunity in alignment with retail and wholesale
Content Management: Ensure all product and marketing contents are available to go-live in time and quality and optimize the user experience
・ Ensure application of global creative content as provided by Global Marketing and global PDP content as provided by Global Content Management Team
・ For all products, which are not in the Global eCom sponsored range, ensure on-time creation of PDP content in accordance with global shooting and copy guidelines
・ For all regional initiatives, collaborate with Regional Marketing Team to create local marketing creatives in line with global marketing guidelines
・ Apply analytics to optimize site performance with regards to content placement
Operations: Monitor and improve all operational KPIs related to Inbound, Outbound, Returns, Customer Service:
・ Define in partnership with Operations Japan appropriate measures to improve fulfillment KPIs
・ Hold external Customer Service provider accountable to Service Level Agreement
・ Identify operational improvement projects (payments, fraud, …) and lead projects from tendering to implementation with all involved parties
Site Development: Identify opportunities to improve the UX and commerciality of our website.
・ Provide collaboration and business requirements to Global eCom Team.
・ Based on business criticality, the code will either be developed by global developer of Global eCom Team or by the local developer of Japan eCom Team.
KPIs and qualitative measures
・ Degree educated, preferably in Business or IT related field.
・ Business fluent English proficiency. Native level Japanese.
・ Minimum of 5 years eCom experience with 3 years in a leadership role
・ Strong marketing, CRM and retail experience
・ Experience managing CRM systems and vendors.
・ Experienced and proven success in managing a 3rd party outsource platform
・ Experience in managing internal ecommerce teams in conjunction with a 3rd party platform provider.
・ Strong understanding of ecommerce landscape, including general ecommerce architecture, processes, and systems.
・ The ability to effectively collaborate and influence all areas of IT, Marketing, Wholesale and Retail
・ Understanding and experience with retail buying and merchandising
・ Experience in building and enhancing on-line store revenue
