[Responsibilities]
SCOPE OF WORK
This position will be responsible for interpreting we and tenant physical security standards and overseeing design and construction from start to finish to ensure each building meets the stringent security requirements of the modern data center market.

As part of the data center design and construction process, you will be responsible for collaborating with architectural and engineering teams during the design phase to ensure each building can support the necessary security systems.
You will also work with third party designers and integrators to ensure the security systems are delivered smoothly and that installation is of the highest quality.
After installation is complete you will be responsible for ensuring local security and operations teams have the resources necessary to fully utilize the systems.

Typical design / construction timeline is 30 months.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
Design Engineering:

  • Serve as Lead/Support physical security project manager for data center design and construction. Emphasis on design optimization and risk mitigation.
  • Guide and collaborate with third party security design consultants during the design phase, to ensure designs comply with Japanese best practices, our Development standards, and tenant specifications.
  • Lead regular meetings with designers, integrators, general contractors, and tenant project managers as needed to support the project execution.
  • Monitor and report on security design and installation progress to internal project managers and construction managers throughout the project.
  • Communicate changes and requirements to the General Contractor designers responsible for the building and its infrastructure.
  • Track and prepare change order documentation as needed.
  • Document design standards, technical specifications, and lessons learnt, and feed potential improvements back into the master our standard.
  • Review and evaluate proposals for design and installation works.
  • Preparation of security design standards, typical drawings, and technical specification documents to support the bid process for design and installations by approved vendors.
  • Review and provide quality assurance of vendor quotes.

Project & Construction Management:

  • Guide & support third party security integrators as they interface with the tenant and general contractor to install and test all security systems.
  • Lead weekly Tenant Design / Installation meetings to monitor and report on project progress.
  • Inspect security system hardware during and after installation to ensure quality control standards are being met, including access control devices, intrusion detection devices, CCTV, and other components of physical security systems.
  • Review integrator drawings and requests for information.
  • Subject Matter Expert for physical security system testing and acceptance and assuring operational readiness at project completion.
  • Preparation and archiving of project close-out documentation.
  • Reporting vendor performance metrics regarding system installation, service delivery, and equipment availability / reliability.

[Requirement]
QUALIFICATION:

  • Qualified degree in Computer Science, Information & Technology, or related field
  • Relevant professional certifications in security and project management, similar to Certified Security professional (CSP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM) preferred.
  • Ability to interpret program objectives, develop project schedules and manage adherence to established timetables.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals regarding physical security standards and system designs.
  • Have a proven track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects.

EXPERIENCE :

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and Japanese)
  • Familiarity with construction design drawings and / or AutoCAD
  • Attention-to-detail and good observation skills
  • Familiarity with various Access/Intrusion Control Systems and CCTV Systems
  • Understanding of security layers, zoning, and other physical security concepts
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid authorization to work in Japan.
  • Minimum (10) years' work experience with past 5 years in Security
