Market Access Manager


Overall objective:
The role of Wholesaler Management and Market Access is to maximize opportunities via a strategic approach for pricing from the early stage of development to life cycle management collaborating with cross-functional team and Global team as well as industry groups. Also, contributes to maintaining and optimizing supply through wholesaler channels and by planning and promoting the wholesaler strategy utilizing wholesaler functions effectively.

Role and responsibilities:
Position holder has key responsibilities not limited to but also includes followings

  • Negotiate NHI prices and price premiums/PMPs for new products at listing to obtain and maintain appropriate prices
  • Lead cross-functional project team and closely collaborate with Global Market Access
  • Make price assumptions (base case) to support more accurate business cases and decisions
  • Provide pricing and access assumptions and insights to support pipeline products to guide RCT design and outcome measures, and descriptions in regulatory dossiers and PI, etc.
  • Negotiate price revisions for premiums for additional indications as well as repricing for unprofitability/market expansion, essential drugs, and product-related Dr. fees, etc.
  • Make proposals for industry opinions at EFPIA collaborating with other companies
  • Consult MHLW on the issues as corporate representative
  • Enhance knowledge and capability by collecting information from industry group activities and sharing with the team
  • Provide basic knowledge to R&D, Commercial and MRs on healthcare system
  • Plan the effective wholesaler strategy and activity with wholesalers considering the environment and product profile
  • Distribution Management and ensure supply availability
  • Support the related Trade operation to achieve ex-factory sales target
  • Retail price monitoring and support wholesalers to negotiate retail price with hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies.
  • Plan rebate and allowance plan
  • Provide competitive insights to R&D, Commercial and MRs
