Head of Business Development - Digital Technology, Tokyo
Use your digital tech know-how and know-who to help New Zealand businesses grow bigger, better, faster in Japan.

What you will be doing:
Our Tokyo based Japan team are looking for a well-connected and energetic Head of Business Development - Digital Technology with strong networks in Japan to help New Zealand tech businesses enter, navigate and thrive in the local market.
This is an interesting role, with a lot of opportunity for you to use your valuable experience and connections in the digital and tech space. You will proactively support & help New Zealand companies to develop and execute their business growth plans, including identifying and providing strategic introductions, navigate & localize the Japanese market with appropriate analysis and research. You'll also be involved in the identification of potential in-market partners, help develop new channels to market,coach our New Zealand companies on their journey and identify potential growth opportunities.
A superb relationship manager and team player, you will also be involved in supporting the growth of digital know-how with other sectors in our team and working with non-tech NZ companies to help them transform their digital journey in Japan. You will be part of a global organization working with colleagues in your region, New Zealand and our other international offices to achieve the New Zealand government's economic development goals.

What you will need to be successful:
You are someone with an established Tech career, with experience in digital channels, familiarity with marketing or selling software, understanding of supply chain from supplier to consumer, some experience with social media for corporates, account management, or consulting experience in the digital technology sector.
With commercial smarts and know-how to manage a portfolio of companies, you'll play a key role in evaluating their strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities and supporting them with market entry and navigating growth strategies in the Japanese market.
Proven commercial acumen is critical, as is the ability to work alongside CEOs and a willingness to 'roll your sleeves up'. You will have superior communication, business consulting and relationship management skills with the ability to build rapport quickly. Well-connected in the industry, you'll have a strong sense for doing business in Japan.
Fluency in Japanese & English is required.
You will already need to be eligible to work in Japan for ours organization.
